Why do brown spots appear and disappear on my Bichon's white fur?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hi! My Bichon gets brown spots in some parts of her white fur. The spots seem to appear and disapppear. Her skin underneath is fine. What could be the reason? Thanks.

I am sorry but it is difficult to see the spots in these pictures on my end. Spots that you describe could be a minor discoloration from debris or actual dirt/debris. If the skin underneath is the normal color and not irritated then I wouldn't be too concerned. If she is ever itchy, skin changes color, or bothered, then I would have your vet take a look at it. I hope this helps!

It is very hard to say anything about what this could be with such a vague description. Can you post any photos of these brown spots? My best guess would be that she has fleas that are moving around on her. Could you please post again with some photos or a better description? That way we could help you better. Thank you!
