My dogs eyes quiver horizontally very quickly & steadily - nystagmus? BOrder collie/Aussie mix approx 18 months, rescued from Texas 45 days ago. No noticeable head tilting or circling/imbalance. She has collapsed after bile vomiting at least once, and she had severe diarrhea and Giardia. If it is inner ear related And perhaps peripheral vestibuler disease, could Zymox plus ear medication stop the nystagmus ?

So sorry to hear that Red is having this issue. Sounds like nystagmus. Could be an inner or middle ear infection - that means the infection is behind the ear drum so topical medications like Zymox will not fix this issue. It could also be a brain lesion or idiopathic (meaning we can't find an underlying cause). You need to get her to a vet for an exam and to discuss diagnostics and treatment options. I think this article will help clarify things. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=564 Hope this helps. Best wishes.
