My dog has Parvo. Why is she still vomiting and pooping blood after vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 3 days old | 13 lbs

My dog is positive in Parvo. I already took her to the vet but despite having her IV fluids and some few shots, she still keeps on vomitting ang pooping blood. Is this normal?

That is not normal, but sometimes parvovirus infection can be particularly persistent, so the signs may take a while before resolving. If despite treatment the signs persist more than 36-48hours another check up at your local veterinarian is needed. Hospitalisation in these cases is often very important as intensive treatment may be needed.
