My 8 yr. old chi/terrier mix sometimes coughs, not all the time, but occasionally. Should I worry? He eats fine but is not very active. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 6 years and 4 months old | 15 lbs

I always think a cough is worth evaluating. Some reasons are more benign than others, but it is always a good idea to know why your dog is coughing so you can be aware of how it may progress and prevent future problems. The first step is to have your veterinarian examine Scooter and take x-rays of his chest.
