My dog ate a mouse. Should I be concerned if my dog ate a wild mouse?

Hi, I am looking after a working spaniel for a week. She's approx 6 years old. She has a suspected protein defiency and is currently on 1 x Protexin Cobalaplex Caps daily. She just caught and ate a field mouse (I think it was mouse), is it something to worry about? Many thanks. El (in UK)

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Eating a mouse is a fairly natural thing for a dog to do. Most likely Daisy will be just fine. You will want to monitor for any signs of illness, such as lethargy, inappetence, vomiting, or diarrhea, and seek veterinary care if these develop. I hope you don't have any problems while Daisy is in your care.
