Husky puppy has diarrhea 2 weeks after food change. Should I worry?

My Siberian husky has had Diarrhea every since I changed his food 2weeks ago. I don't know if this is normal but I am starting to get very worried and scared.

No, it's normal to have diarrhea for this length of time in a puppy, and while it could be caused by the change in food, he could have something else causing it such as intestinal worms, a GI illness, or a foreign body. I would take Marshall into the vet first thing in the morning. Given the length of time he has had it, he definitely needs to see a vet right away. The vet can diagnose the cause of his diarrhea and how best to treat it. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hi there! Sorry to hear that Husky is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Husky evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start him on medications to make him feel better. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your boy!

I have a 4 month old bleu weimeraner. She’s had diarrhea for 3 weeks now. We’ve tried changing her food. Cutting out treats.. so many things but nothing is helping.
Since she has had diarrhea for 3 weeks, she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. She could have an intestinal parasite and your vet can run a fecal test to see if she has one. Your vet can also prescribe medications to help treat the diarrhea. You could also try a bland GI diet and add a probiotic (Fortiflora, Proviable, etc.) and see if that helps, too.

Hello im trying to see what i should feed my 7 week old husky i give him 1 can of ceasar wet food and it doesnt seem like enough and i got him puppy pedigree but every time he eats dry food he has diarrhea
It is important that puppies are on a good quality puppy food in order to support their growth and development. All new foods can cause some diarrhoea and it helps to introduce new foods over a few days as well as adding probiotics to help the bowel. If he is currently tolerating wet food best then a puppy wet formula would be recommended. Ensure also he is up to date with deworming treatments as intestinal worms can contribute to such signs also

This is not uncommon following a food change and I would recommend adding a probiotic/fiber supplement such as fortiflora to help rebalance his bowel and speed recovery. IF his current food is the one you wish to feed long term I would not change again but give him time to adapt

As a first approach I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice more diarrhoea and vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Oli is 9 months now. He's been eating Royal Canin puppy food all his life. I switched him to Pedigree puppy 2 days ago (it's cheaper). But yesterday i noticed bile in his crate, and today he has diarrhea. Is it normal to have this when switching food
Switching foods too quickly can cause digestive upset such as vomiting and diarrhea. It would be best to return to Oli's original food until his stomach settles and then start a gradual change to the new food over a period of 7-9 days, slowly adding in more of the new food over time. This can help minimize stomach upset from the new food as he adjusts.

I have a 8 week old husky wolf mix and she's had dihreah for a couple of days but with no blood and she's throwing up for the first time should I be concerned ?
Yes, I would be concerned, as it's not normal for a puppy to have diarrhea for a couple of days, and to then start vomiting. I would have Sasha seen by a vet today. These symptoms could be caused by GI illness, eating something rotten, intestinal parasites, a foreign body, or parvovirus (even though you haven't seen blood in it). The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests to check for parvo and to see if infection is present, and a urinalysis to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated.

He sounds like a happy chappy. His diarrhea could still be caused by the food change and if that is the cause indeed, it should resolve by itself. However, if he has not been wormed yet, he should get a puppy wormer now and then again in 3 weeks. Invictus is due for his first vaccinations, if he has not received them yet, so you can have him wormed at the vet when he receives his first or second round of shots, which ever applies. Do not abruptly change his food, try to stick with what he is eating now for as long as possible. When introducing new food, you need to do this slowly, ie replacing parts of the old food with the new over a few days until you arrive at 100% new food. If his diarrhea does not resolve within the next few days, and especially after worming, then he wil need to be seen by a veterinarian who will then do a fecal exam to check for other parasites not affected by a puppy wormer (giardia and coccidia being the most common ones).

Poor pup! No, it's not normal for her to have diarrhea, especially if it's been going on for a week now. I would be concerned that she may have an intestinal parasite of some kind, or possibly an infection causing the diarrhea. I would recommend taking her to the vet today if you can for an exam - he/she can do a fecal exam to check for parasites or other problems, and will prescribe appropriate medication to treat the diarrhea depending on what is found.
