My pet mouse has a red, open sore on its back and is losing hair.

Hello! I have a question regarding my pet mouse. She has developed a large, red, seemingly open sore on her back. It started off as a small lump but has grown into a circle about the size of the tip of my finger. It has been losing hair all around it as well, but I do not know if this is due to the sore or her 2 sisters over-grooming the area. Any knowledge or advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

First of all, Maizy looks more like a rat in the picture, unless she is an extremely large mouse. the lesions looks like a wound at the moment, but if it started as a lump it could be an abscess or a tumor. you will have to take her to an exotic vet specialist to get this checked and treated, if it is an infection she will need a course of antibiotics in order to heal properly.
