My puppy fell, crying, won't eat. Does he need a vet for his jaw?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 months and 19 days old | 7 lbs

My puppy fell from a high distance and fell face forward on his bottom jaw, at first he seemed like he was in shock and then started yelping and crying. We think his tooth is fractured but we can’t really say. He won’t eat his food or treats but we managed to give him baby food. Should we take him to the vet or wait it out?

Poor Lucky! You could monitor for the next hour but if he continues to cry, he seems not as active as usual or if he is painful when you touch his jaw or you notice any other change I would suggest to bring him to the vet to make sure is all ok! Please post again on the forum if you need to discuss it further. I hope my answer was helpful.
