Why does my dog eat human hair? Is it dangerous or normal for dogs?

I've noticed that Penelope has been eating human hair. It's not a whole lot however it has been happening more frequently and it is enough hair that comes out in her stool. Should I be concerned? Is this normal? Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 15 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! That is not typical though I have seen it before. The one concern I have is that if Penelope eats a lot of hair that could at some point turn into an intestinal blockage. That would be uncommon and not expected but possible so I would try to discourage this behavior as much as possible. Good luck and have a good night!
