My dog's back leg is limping and he stretches it. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 8 months old | 90 lbs

My dogs back leg has been limping since yesterday. He sits on it fine. He tries to set it down slowly but brings it back up. i notice that he stretches it alot . I usually give him thigh rubs and he stretxhes it but im scared to touch it. What can i do

Hello, and thank you for your question. Causes of limping include a soft tissue injury (i.e. strain/sprain), a fracture, or a dislocation. I would recommend restricting his exercise for the next few days - no running, jumping, or rough play. If it is a sprain, it should gradually improve with time. If it does not, I would recommend taking Mugz to the vet. They can evaluate for any pain or swelling, and can recommend x-rays if necessary. I hope this helps, and that Mugz is feeling better soon!
