My dog vomited yellow liquid after eating pills. Is he at risk?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 54 lbs

My 50 lb, 2 year old Siberian Husky threw up bright yellow liquid with bubbles twice yesterday, once in the morning and in the evening. He is eating and drinking normally and has normal bowel movements and energy. Two days ago he did ingest 2 lactase enzyme pills but we consulted with our vet and found them not to be dangerous to him. Could the vomiting be a side effect of eating these? He has not throw up again today but I want to be sure he is not at any risk since this has never happened

Hello, any dietary indiscretion may elicit vomiting just by being something new to their GI tract and not necessarily due to a side effect. There are some medications however which may cause vomiting and other GI signs as a main side effect. Because it has been determined that these pills were not harmful to Dodger I would recommend continuing to monitor him. As long as he is no longer vomiting, having a decreased appetite, or develops diarrhea then he should be ok. If you note any of these signs then you should have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Hope this helps and best of luck.
