I am wondering what this spot is on my dog's rear. Hot spot, ringworm, something else? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 65 lbs

It does not have the appearance of ringworm or a hot spot. Ideally, Snickers should be examined by your veterinarian. If it is a mass or tumor, a fine needle aspirate can be done to collect samples for pathology. An impression smear can also be made and examined under a microscope in the clinic. If Snickers is licking or chewing at it, place an e-collar (cone) on her until she sees the vet. At the very least, she may need antibiotics since the skin is broken which predisposes her to infection.
