I was wondering how much would the first shots for a puppy cost? And how many do they need at 6-8 weeks?

Thanks for the question. I'm glad you are planning to get Mickey vaccinated. The typical vaccination schedule is a combination vaccine called DAPP, which stands for Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. This vaccine is usually given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. A rabies vaccine is given 16 weeks of age. Other recommended vaccines vary depending on what part of the country Mickey is living. Prices vary widely from one city to another, so I can't tell you how much this will cost. I recommend calling a local clinic and asking how much it will cost to bring Mickey in for an exam and his first round of puppy vaccines. An examination is very important for puppies to check for any problems that need to be addressed. Congratulations on your new puppy and I hope you have fun with Mickey.

Congratulations on your new puppy! Prices vary quite a bit depending on where you live, so the best thing to do would be to call around to some local veterinary clinics near you on Monday to ask about costs. To give you a general idea, in my area the first puppy vaccine (a DAPP vaccine for distemper and parvo) would cost around $15-20 at most clinics. It would also be a good idea to have an exam and fecal testing for your puppy, to check for any problems or intestinal parasites that may be present and make sure that she is healthy. Where I live, total cost for this visit with an exam, vaccine, and fecal test +/- deworming if needed would be around $75-100 total. It may be different in your area, so I would definitely call some clinics in the morning and ask :)

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. What a cute baby! Chrome is adorable. It is difficult for me to give you an estimate because prices vary so much from region to region in the US. It should not be much more than $100, but in the Midwest, where I am, first puppy shots are around $60. Call a couple of clinics in your area & compare costs. Take care.

Hi there! Vaccines have different costs depending on what clinic you choose and what vaccines are administered by your veterinarian. Normally, a clinic will charge an exam fee ($30-$60). Vaccines tend to be around $15-$50 each, however there are some clinics that have vaccine packages that may be more cost effective. Maya will need a rabies vaccine and the canine distemper-adenovirus-parvovirus-parainfluenza virus vaccine at the very least. You may need to shop around and explore different clinics and prices in your area. Thanks for posting and for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
