My cat is on medication. Why is he still lethargic and not eating?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old

Hi! My cat is 1,5 years old and has been a little apatic lately so we took him to a vet consult. The couldn't exactly know what he has so she prescribed him 3 days of daily cortisone and 5 days of antibiotics twice a day. He's already taken 2 days of medication and gets especially better after taking the cortisone. No painful palpation of abdmen, heart rate and temperature ok, no weird smells, mouth ok too. He is a little better and still eats very little. Should he be much better know?

Thanks for the question. It sounds like Gregory has finished 2 days of the medication that was prescribed by your veterinarian. I would recommend finishing the prescribed medication, and then going back in for a recheck if he isn't improving. At any time if Gregory is getting worse, then don't wait to finish the medication. Often, without more testing (lab tests and x-rays) we don't know exactly what we are treating for. If Gregory is not improving, your veterinarian may recommend more testing to try and find a cause for his symptoms. I'm glad he is doing a little better so far, and I hope his appetite improves.
