Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 11 months old | 8.8 lbs
Hi, Ginger is my foster cat, been with me for a month. Yesterday the vet diagnosed her with ear mites (mild case) . Gave me two options for treatment; shots of ivermectin or two doses of Stronghold spot-on solution over 2-3 weeks (picture incl.). I chose the latter and applied first dose before bedtime. Today she lost her hair around that area (picture included) and her skin there was slightly red. She seems perfectly fine beside that 'bald' area (eats, plays, sleeps normally). Is it serious?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Ginger! It isn't serious but it is a complication of some of the topicals. It likely will happen with the 2nd dose too so you may want to consider the other option your Vet provided. I hope this helps and I wish Ginger the very best!
