When can my dog go to daycare after neutering and cone removal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | | 13 lbs

Hello, my dog was neutered on 1/22/18. He's had to wear a cone since and I wanted to take him to a doggy day care, where they do not allow cones and he will be around other dogs. Would this be okay or would you advise against it? Attached are photos of his stitches

I advise my patients to keep the cone on and decreased activity for 10-14 days. Also, the picture looks like maybe he was a cryptochid with 2 incisions? I would recommend being on the safe side and waiting 2 weeks before play with other dogs. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
