My dog used to nap with me. Why does he nap away now? Is it normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 3 months old | 10 lbs

I found a terrier mix running in the streets and I brought him home since he did not have a chip. When he first came home, he followed me EVERYWHERE and always took his naps in the room I was in. One year and three months later, he now naps away from me. Is that normal, is that okay?

That could be completely normal and would not be a sign of any type of behavioral change or abnormality. He probably feels very comfortable sleeping anywhere in your house.
