My senior dog has diarrhea, gas, and is subdued. Can I give milk?

My 10year old Yorkshire terrier..has had the runs and has been acting a bit subdued for 3 days know .he has awfully bad wind .but does make the effort to go walkies .....is there anything l could give him ..someone suggested lacto free milk .. Buy the way he is still eating . though a little picky

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Brino! I would avoid dairy or milk products, even if lactose free. If Brino is having diarrhea I wouldn't give him something he has never had before that isn't bland, it could make the diarrhea worse. If the diarrhea is bad I would not feed him for 12 hours then restart feeding with a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs until 1-2 normal stools. If the stool isn't improving in 1-2 days he should be seen by your Vet (partially do to his age and the length of symptoms) for an exam and medications.
