Why is my Chihuahua in anal pain and terrified after neutering?

Since having my 5 yo male Chihuahua neutered, he is constantly acting like he's in serious pain near his anus, and acts though he's trying to run away from his pain. He acts utterly terrified?? His surgery was done about six mo. ago. Plz help! Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 5 years old | 9 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is possibly due to anal gland issues such as anal gland infection or impaction. Other possibilities are certainly possible. I recommend that you have Cletus evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to treat him based on examination findings. Good luck!
