My dog's ears are pigmented and thinning. How do I safely clean them?

Hello, Could you please check on Sammy’s back part of his ears? It’s pigmented for some reason. His coat is smooth and shiny on the rest of his body. I feed him with select gold dry food. By the way is there a safe way to clean the ears inside? It’s not that dirty though. Greetings! Janos

Hello, Sammy appears to have thinning coat at the back of his ears. This may be normal variance of his coat in that area and as long as he is not itchy or shaking his head excessively then you may continue to monitor the area. Any redness, complete hair loss, bumps, itchiness, or even head shaking would warrant a visit to the veterinarian. If his ears are not dirty, you do not need to clean inside of the ear as this can most often result in predisposition to ear infections. Hope this helps and best of luck.
