My dog has an inconclusive neck mass. Is a 2-week surgery wait safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 34 lbs

My 9year old beagle has egg size mass with a smaller one infer it on her jaw neck area. Happened in a month time. Vet aspirated and it is inconclusive. They want to remove it. First surgery time with them is 2 weeks out. Should I look for someone else for sooner?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! 2 weeks is generally not too long to wait. I recommend you keep a close eye on the mass. If it appears to be getting significantly larger before your surgery appointment, have Lucky evaluated sooner. Otherwise, this should be ok. Good luck and have a great day!
