Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 100 lbs

My dog eyes has been red and droppy. What does that mean? Should I be worried? She was attacked by some stray dogs 2 months ago and she had a big scar on her leg and neck. It have healed but will she need shots to be healthy again? I don't know how old she but I do know she does need her shots. She always throw up from some of the food she eats. She I be concerned about how much she throw up?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bella! How old is Bella? I would not want to to give her vaccines if she is vomiting after she eats. If she vomits EVERY TIME she eats then that is concerning. Causes for vomiting are: intestinal parasites, pyometra (infected uterus which is a surgical emergency), foreign body (something is stuck requiring surgery), dietary indiscretion (ate something gross that is upsetting her stomach), food allergy or intolerance, toxin ingestion, Kidney or liver problems, cancer. Without seeing pictures of her eyes it's hard to say what is going on. Red eyes can be from allergies or an infection but it also could be from glaucoma, a corneal ulcer, uveitis or even be from something internal going on. I highly recommend taking Bella to the Vet for an exam and to discuss all that is going on with her. I hope this helps and I wish Bella the very best!
