My female boxer has a nipple issue after her first heat. What is it?

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | 9 months and 14 days old | 45 lbs

I need some help I just notice this on my boxer tonight she does not have puppies, she has had her first heat cycle in October 14, 2017 what could this be? she has not been around any other dogs beside my other 2 and there both fix

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is possibly just a small laceration or wound on the top of the nipple. I would just continue to monitor it for now. If it heals on its own then you do not need to be concerned about it. This should happen relatively quickly. If it does not heal in the next week, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!
