Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | 12 lbs
I adopted a cat 8 months ago from a shelter. He has developed chronic ear infection in one ear that respond to antibiotics temporarily but reoccurs again (about once a month). Now he has skin irritation under his neck near the ear, and a small ulcer on his mouth. My vet thinks it could be allergies or his immune system. She recommended either a biopsy or a hypoallergenic diet...which would be better?

Great question! You can try a hypoallergenic diet first to see if that helps before doing a biopsy. It's the less invasive procedure, and it makes sense to try that first before moving onto something more invasive. If the hypoallergenic diet doesn't work, then you can try a biopsy. Good luck, I hope this helps!
