Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Poodle | Female | spayed
10 yr old mini poodle's back legs suddenly giving out especially right leg. She can't get up or walk. Bloodwork shows low electrolytes low iron and high kidney values (recommends phosphate binder). Vet says it's all related gave iv fluids and said to do an ultrasound. Cushing's is suspected but recommends not to treat. Gave her a tramadol last night and she was able to get up on her own slowly. Fine one day and the next can't move. Could this all be related or should I get a second opinion?

This could be due to a bulging intervertebral disc which can cause rear leg weakness or paralysis. She may be in pain since she was able to get up a little after a tramadol. I would continue with the diagnostic tests until you get to the cause of the problem. Then she can receive the appropriate treatment.
