Can obedience class help my timid rescue dog with fear and anxiety?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

Noel is 1 yr old. She was a rescue dog. No information of parents and was rescued at a young age. We adopted her at 9 weeks. She has always been very timid. Will only go to me. There are 2 other house members and will not go to them without me placing her into their arms and is very uneasy while they hold her. I know she would have bitten the vet and associates without a muzzle. I plan on taking her to a dog obedience class in March. Do you think this might help?

yes, any form of socialization will help be less anxious and more comfortable with different people and in new environments. Just make sue to provide plenty of treats and rewards to encourage good behavior
