My cat ate Decutan acne pills. Is it dangerous? What should I do?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 9 months and 22 days old

My cat who is 9 months old and about 4 kg. Just ate 80 mg of Decutan acne pills. What is the danger and should he be alright?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! That is a large dose for a cat. I would seek veterinary care. It is very hard to induce vomiting in cats, but the Vet can decide if they are unable to make Tumi vomit if they would want to do gastric lavage or just provide supportive care. If Iceland has an animal poison control hotline you could call that (we have many in the US). Side effects more often occur in cats: anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea, neurologic signs (hyperactivity, collapse, behavioral changes, limb stiffness, itchiness, skin problems, swollen tongue, etc. I hope this helps and I wish you and Tumi the best!
