My 9 wk old puppy was treated last night for an allergic reaction. He received a Benadryl shot and was sent home. He slept for a bit and when he woke up he couldnt sit or lay still, he’d jump up like something had scared him, was scratching at his ear. He went back to the clinic at 1:00 am- they told us it was a side effect from the Benadryl and he was fine. He’s been doing this all night and this morning still. Restless, whining, still scratching and has had diarrhea. What can we do??

I believe it might actually be part of the original allergic reaction but as there is suspicion he had a reaction to the Benadryl i wouldn't recommend giving it again. instead i would recommend to monitor him, give it 48 hours, if it is not resolved bring him back to the vet for a steroid shot.
