My dog licked Phytovet CK wipes. Is it poisonous or will she get sick?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | 1 year and 8 months old | 55 lbs

I used Phytovet CK wipes on my dog’s paws and she licked her paws right after while they were still wet. Is this poisonous? Is there anything I can do to prevent her from getting sick?

Hello there! The ingredients in the phytovet CK wipes are very safe and are also in diluted concentrations. The amount that actually is applied to the skin is also very small as compared to if she was to ingest the liquid form. If it's just a single time ingestion or even if it happens again randomly I wouldn't be worried. I do not expect Ella to get sick at all. However, the application you just did isn't likely to be effective as she probably licked it all off. I usually tell people if you can have a contact time of at least 3-5 minutes with no licking then enough has absorbed to be effective and they wouldn't be ingesting much at all. When I use it on my own dog I just sit with her for a few minutes and play/distract her to keep her from licking. It usually dries pretty fast. I wouldn't worry. I think Ella will be just fine. I hope this information was helpful to you and helps put your mind at ease. I wish you and Ella all the best!
