Why does my cat have brown in one eye? Is it normal or a problem?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | 3 years old | 7 lbs

Is it normal that her one eye has so much brown in it? I'm not sure if this is new or not. I just noticed it today. She is currently on antibiotics because she had her teeth removed. She has stomatitis autoimmune disease. Thank you

Hello, and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. From what I can tell in the picture, this looks like normal pigmentation in the eye. As long as Keira seems comfortable with no symptoms, I would conclude that this is normal for her. Of course, if she's showing *any* signs of discomfort, increased tear production, squinting, redness, etc then I'd have her checked by your vet to be safe. Hope this helps!
