What is this black dot pimple on my dog's eyelid and should I worry?

HI my name is jerica and I noticed yesterday that it looks like my dog has a pimple with a small black dot in the middle of it on her lower eyelid. I was just wondering what it could be or if she needs to go have it removed??

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. This will likely require sedation because of the location of the growth. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is very unlikely to be an issue and it is most likely normal. As long as it is not raised and there is not a mass effect, I would not be too concerned about this. Good luck and have a great day!
