My senior ferret is scratching a tumor. What can I do to help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Female | 6 years and 7 months old | 1lb

My ferret seems to have a Tumour underneath, but not bothering her vet says no point testing as she is over 6 years of age and wouldn't help my ferret but could just let us know the outcome. Vet said aneasetic could be too much for her. She keeps on scratching and catches her tumour. Anything I can do. She is a happy little girl and now my only ferret. She lives in the living room in a cage but gets out for a run every day. Thank you

If Pebbles is not going to have surgery to remove the tumor then you should try to cover the tumor to keep her from continuing to scratch it. You can get her a shirt or sweater. https://www.etsy.com/listing/225544117/pet-ferret-sweater-cozy-unique-extra?ref=shop_home_feat_3 You can also put some Neopsorin on it if you'd like. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
