Why is my senior dog's nose dripping green mucus? What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

my dog, a border collie mix, is at least 10 yrs old and has a tumor in her lung. I took her to the vet b/c of her coughing at the time, about 6 mos. ago. She's not coughing much now but now her main problem is the greenish mucous from her nose sometimes. Is there anything that might help that? I'm trying to feed her healthy food.

I would recommend having your veterinarian take a look at her. If she has greenish mucous coming from her nose she may have a bacterial infection that requires antibiotics. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
