My 6-month-old Pit Boxer mix needs shots. Is Canine Spectra 5 okay?

My dog is 6 months he never had his shots so I was wondering would Canine Spectra 5 be okay for him or I need to get something else. He is a pit and boxer mixed

Canine Spectra 5 is ok to give Leo, but he will also need a rabies vaccine. The rabies vaccine is required by law in most US states, and it can only be given by a veterinarian. You will need to make an appointment with a vet to get this done. Both vaccines will need a booster four weeks after the first vaccine to give full immunity. I hope this helps!

Yes that is fine. Diogo will need two vaccines each given four weeks apart to be fully vaccinated. He also needs rabies, which is required by law and can only be given by a vet. Make an appointment with a vet to get that done.

You can but it would be best to have a vet administer the vaccinations so they can talk to you about what else she may need. She will also needs boosters. So, technically, yes you can give that vaccination yourself if you feel comfortable doing it. Two more boosters 3-4 week apart would be needed afterwards. Mabel will be due for a rabies vaccination by 16 weeks of age and that has to be administered by a vet (this is law) so you are best off taking her and getting them all done together. So I just received the answer for whether or not I should give my nearly 9 week old pups Spectra 5 or 10, however, I'm curious how I continue about booster shots? 13, 17, 21 weeks? And do I do the next level Spectra vaccination for each?
If you vaccinate now, they should receive boosters at around 12-13 weeks, and then the third series 4 weeks later. They only need the three rounds. If you give Spectra 5 the first time, I would recommend Spectra 10 for the next two series. The Spectra 10 vaccinates against leptospirosis, and they need to have that twice, 4 weeks apart. Make sure they also receive a rabies vaccination with a veterinarian at 16 weeks of age. All vaccines will need to be boostered in 1 year. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hello, congratulations on your new puppy. He will need 3 sets of vaccines 2 weeks apart each set. Vaccinations include to protect against distemper, parvovirus, parainfluenza, adenovirus, bordetella, and rabies. You should also discuss checking his stool for parasites and deworming him. Hi and thanks for your question. If at 5 months, this will be the first time he will be receiving vaccines, then I would recommend he receive his rabies vaccine and distemper-hepatitis-parvovirus vaccine as well as bordetella if he will be around other dogs or kenneled. He will need a booster of the distemper and bordetella in 3-4 weeks. At your first appointment with Sash's vet, you and the veterinarian can decide what other vaccines are recommended based on Sash's risk level and health status. I hope this helps!

Hello The vaccine schedule for an older dog is slightly different than for puppies as usually they require only 2-3 injections. However vaccines purchased from a store or online are not held to the same standards in terms of cold storage and handling so many times they can be damaged and ineffective. I recommend checking with your veterinarian as to which vaccines are recommended for your area (such as Lyme, Lepto) and what your pet will be exposed to and discussing a specific vaccine schedule for him. Your veterinarian can also give more exact price quotes and some corporate practices offer wellness plans for vaccines.

Since Bailey is older than 16 weeks old, he should just need a booster vaccine now, and then one more in 3 weeks. After that, he'll be good for a year :) He should also have a rabies vaccine. I would recommend having the shots given by a veterinarian, if you can. The ones purchased over the counter for home administration are often not effective, in my experience. You also won't be able to get a vaccination certificate to prove that he's been vaccinated unless the shots are administered by a vet.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your puppy. Puppies require boosters of the distemper-parvo combination vaccines every 2-4 weeks until they reach a minimum of 16 weeks of age. Rabies can be given between 12-16 weeks of age depending on local laws where you live. Puppies need two vaccines for leptospirosis. Im getting my new pitbull puppy today, what vaccinations do i need to start her off with that are necessary? She is about 8 weeks old
She is cute! If she hasn't already received a disptemper/parvo combination vaccine then she should have one now. Other vaccines that may be necessary are leptospirosis, bordetella, Lyme, and influenza. She will also need a Rabies vaccine between 12 - 16 weeks of age. The best thing would be to have her examined by your vet and he/she can develop a vaccine schedule specifically for her based on her risk of exposure and her age. She will also need heartworm prevention, as well as flea and tick prevention and your vet can help determine which product is best for her.

Is the Canine Spectra 6 in 1 shot okay to use? I have an eight week old beagle that I got yesterday. He hasn’t had any shots yet and was wondering if that product is recommended and safe to use?
I personally do not recommend giving vaccines yourself at home. Owners frequently give them wrong, and places where you buy them, like Tractor Supply, often store the vaccine incorrectly, rendering them ineffective. I cannot tell you how many pets I've seen come down with parvo and distemper who have been vaccinated at home. Bandit's health is up most importance, so I would have him vaccinated by a vet.
