Should I be concerned about my 16-week Maine Coon kitten's 6lb weight?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 30 days old | 6 lbs

I have a maine coon kitten (may be a mix-vet says most likely full maine). He is 16 weeks old and about 6 lbs. I know this is large for most kittens this age but for a maine coon should I be concerned? Is is very active. And eats well. He is being treated for round worm but otherwise healthy.

No you should not be concerned his weight is absolutely fine even for a main coon, do not forget your vet cannot know for sure if he is a pure breed just by his look, a DNA test is needed to confirm that.
