My dog has hard lumps under her healed bite wounds. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | spayed | 6 years and 11 months old | 16 lbs

My dog was attacked and bitten about 3 weeks ago, and received wounds, 2 small and one very large. We focused a lot of attention on the large wound, and it has drained and healed up amazingly well. The other two small one have healed up completely on the surface. She has been on antibiotics the whole time and I still still finishing them up. I felt around the smaller wounds that have healed, and noticed that she has some large very hard cyst like regions under these areas. Should I be concerned?

If they are hard swellings I would worry about cellulitis or scar tissue. If she is eating and acting well and they are not painful, I would not worry as it will go away with time. If it is painful and the appetite is decreasing then I would get it rechecked
