My chihuahua's eye is bloodshot. What can I do before seeing a vet?

my 9 year old chihuahua's right eye is very bloodshot , what can i treat it with?

Poor Mouse! I would start with flushing it out with some artificial tear drops twice a day and give her some Benadryl twice a day. If it isn't improving or if she is favoring that eye or if there is any discharge from that eye, I would have your vet take a look at it. She could have a corneal ulcer, dry eye, glaucoma, or even an infection in that eye. Your vet will be able to determine the cause and get her started on the proper meds to help her feel better.
