My 2-week-old puppy has a pink leg lump. Is it contagious? Vet now?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 14 days old | 4 lbs

One of our 2 week old puppies has a huge pink lump on one of her back legs that just showed up today. What could be causing this, and is it contagious to the other puppies? Should I take her to an emergency vet right now?

It's really difficult to know what this is without seeing it. It could be related to an infection, could be a fluid swelling from getting hurt, or a congenital abnormality. I doubt it's something contagious, but I can't know for sure without seeing it. If the pup is otherwise acting normal, then it's not an emergency and can wait until the next day to see you regular vet. If Iris is acting differently and/or not feeding as well, then it would be best to take her to an emergency vet. If you have further questions or need further clarification, then you may consider having an online consult with one of our vets on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This way, you can send unlimited pictures and have a text conversation with a vet. I hope that helps and all is well with Iris.
