My dog has a green pus spot near his penis. Should I be worried?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Parson Russell Terrier | Male | 6 months and 3 days old | 18 lbs

I found a little spot with very green pus close to the penis of my dog and then he discharged a little pus. I heard the discharge is normal but I wanted to know if I should do something about the spot close to his penis.

It looks like a possible pustule. If there are several of these then he should be seen. However, if it is just one then I would watch it for a few days. If it doesn’t dry up and start to resolve in a day or two then she should be seen. It is very common for young dogs to get little skin infections. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
