Why does my cat have white stuff in her urine? Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 2 years and 6 months old

My cat has some white stuff in her urine. She doesn't have it all the time, but it is noticeable. She is fixed and she is about 1.5 years old. What could be the cause of this? Is this something serious to worry about? We are planning on taking her to the vet this week sometime. But I just want a general idea what is going on with her.

Poor Tamara. She likely has an urinary tract infection. It is really common for them to sometimes have sediment or mucus in their urine when it is infected or if the bladder wall is inflamed. I would have your vet take a look at her. They will likely do an urinalysis and start her on meds if needed. I hope this helps!
