Pet's info: Dog | Collie | Male | unneutered | 11 years old | 57 lbs
13 yo MALE Rough Collie - perfect health. urine and defecate all normal. Eating normal. Bright eyed and bushy tailed. 2 da ago found a hand palm size swelling, r/h side running low down, parallel with the penis - but no connection with the penis. The swelling is like a small balloon of water. Slightly warm but not hot. I think it is confined to the mammary gland, like a bitch in whelp, developing the breast for feeding a puppy. The dog is showing no signs of any bother to it, no temperature?

Hi there, I’m sure you are worried about Ben. It is common at that age to develop masses/ lumps. What you describe makes me hopeful that it is either a cyst or a lipoma which is a benign fatty growth. However, there are other more concerning possibilities. I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian soon. They will likely discuss doing either an aspirate or a biopsy to decide if this is something to be worried about or not. Best of luck and Thank You for using Pet Coach.
