My dog has clear nose discharge and snores terribly. Is it a cold?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 10 years and 3 months old | 52 lbs

my dogs nose has clear discharge coming out of it and she has begun to snore horribly. Seriously the worst snoring I've ever heard. She doesn't have to be sleeping for her to snore... Could this be a cold?

I am sorry Snoopy is having this issue. It definitely can be a cold but there are other things it can be. It can be allergies or if it is one nostril that there is discharge it can be a growth. I recommend taking Snoopy to the veterinarian and having them listen to her to make sure there is nothing settled in her lungs and it is just an upper respiratory issue. I hope Snoopy feels better soon and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
