Is it safe to spay my dog after she accidentally mated while in heat?

My dog is in heat and altough I tried to keep the male dog away from her, he escaped, took off her panty and diaper (yes, all by himself), locked himself in a room with her (true story), and apparently mated with her. She was set to get spayed this week, but I’m concerned about her safety. I don’t want to go through the pregnancy, but if it is not safe for her to get spayed a week or two after mating, then I prefer to go through with it than to risk her health. Suggestions and opinions please. Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years old | 9 lbs

It's fine to go ahead and have her spayed now. We often spay dogs in the early stages of pregnancy - this is generally a safe, routine procedure, and would be the best option for Maia if you don't want to breed her.
