It is not possible for a spayed female dog to become pregnant, because the spay procedure involves complete removal of the ovaries and uterus. So if your dog became pregnant, then she was never spayed. I would recommend discussing the situation with the veterinarian who you believe did the procedure to see what may have happened in this case.

Just like humans, dogs can go into premature labor for unknown reasons. Dogs onl have a 63-65 day pregnancy, so even 4 days early can be too early for survival. I am so sorry are experiencing this. As far as her being spayed, she can not be spayed if she got pregnant. When a dog is spayed both then ovaries and the uterus is removed. Making pregnancy impossible. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.

It is absolutely not possible for Tofy to have babies. Her uterus was removed even though there was an ovarian remnant left. She is having a false pregnancy, which is when a dog shows signs of being pregnant without being pregnant. I would have another surgery done to remove the ovarian remnant. I hope this helps!
