Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | spayed | 9 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

For the past month I've been feeding my dog cooked chicken&veggies I thought Bc of the new food change is why she had thrown up everyday(wasnt much just a tad&only one time per day) my dog became very ill throwing up 2 days all day before she passed.Monday night she was perfectly normal by Tuesday morning she stopped eating by Wednesday3am she passed. is it possible she had cancer or a tumor in her stomach causing her to throw up for a month? She was a pomerian going on 10yrsold never sick before

Hello. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am so sorry to hear that Piper passed away. Yes, it is possible she had cancer. She could have had a stomach ulcer that perforated. She may have had heart disease that caused her passing. The only way to know for sure what happened would have been to have your vet perform a necropsy (autopsy). Without doing that, all we can do is guess. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Hope this answered your question.
