Could an old dog bite be causing my dog's skin allergies now?

hello......i got my answer for my previous question...it was,my dog has severe itching,redness in the body and hair loss.....but once before 2 years my dog was bitten by a street dog....could the allergy possibly be because of that?Thanks......

I'm glad you got an answer to your previous question about Guddu! No, allergies would not be caused by a bite from a street dog two years ago. Bites from other dogs do not cause skin allergies. I hope this helps!

My dog has a dog walker. Upon return, he breaks out in these red spots. A day or two later (with no dog walker) his skin returns to normal. Does this look like dermatitis or a bite?
This definitely looks like dermatiits. Also it would not have resolved so quickly if it were bites. The dermatitis is likely a hypersensitivity to something in the environment. Unfortunately a lot of dogs are allergic to things like grass, pollen and molds in the grass, which can cause outbreaks of the skin in this manner. There are some options for management of environmental alleriges in dogs that you can discuss with your vet if O's skin has another outbreak. You can also consider getting O a topical product called Duoxo shampoo calm available online to help with his condition. Best wishes with your furry friend moving forward. Take care!

My dog has what looks like blood blisters on her back, and they seem to really bother her as she is always biting at them and trying to, I'm guessing, pop them. She also has some other bacteria thing that causes her fur back there to not really grow.

This coulid have been a bug bite that is still irritating her. She could also be having an allergic reaction to something her skin came in contact with. If she is licking constantly I would recommend taking her in to your vet for allergy medication to stop the itch. If she continues the lick it, the area will become more raw, irritated and possible infected. Best to take her in to have this treated since there are no effective allergy medications available over the counter for itching to this degree. I hope that Skye's skin improves soon. Hi, and thanks for your question. This could be due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment, then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics).
