After my dog had parvo, does keeping the house cold stop virus spread?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 15 lbs

My dog just got over the parvo virus, and I was wondering do you need to keep the host cold so the virus doesn’t go any further ? Or it’s that just none sense?

Hi there, No, keeping the house cold will not affect the virus. You do need to clean anything Mellow has defecated on with a bleach and water solution (1:10) but your house can stay at whatever temperature you normally have it at. I hope that helps and thanks for using Pet Coach!
