My boyfriend has a cat that is about 8 years old, she has been using the counter for her litter box. What can he do? Does a UTI cause this?

Hi there, Yes, typically when cats begin to urinate in places they shouldn't it's because they have an infection. It can also be due to inflammation in their bladder cause by a syndrome called FLUTD, but infection is much more likely. I would recommend taking Squeakie to you vet today and have them check for a urinary tract infection. These are easy to treat and your vet can get her feeling better. I hope that helps and thanks for using Pet Coach!
