Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 9 months old
My cat is 2 years old and stays in the house. She threw up very small clumps of hair and began crying. She drank some water and was fine for about 3 hours. She began crying again but this time dry heaving. I'm very worried and not sure what to do.

It could be hairball but it could also be a gastrointestinal condition. monitor her for the next 24 hours, make sure she eats and doesn't throw up anymore. as long as she is back to herself i would recommend buying a hairball paste from the pershop to prevent hairballs in the future.
