My puppy ate hemorrhoid cream. Does he need an emergency vet visit?

My 54 pound 9 month old puppy ate a tube of hemroid cream he isnt vomiting but his stool os loose. Do i need to take him in or can i just watch him

Oh no, that's not good that Carl ate the hemorrhoid cream! Thank you for providing a picture of the tube, it helps with my answer. I see it contains Phenylephrine HCL 0.25%, which is a decongestant which may cause hyperactivity. I'm not sure about the other ingredients in it, and while typically topical steroid creams and ointments have a wide margin of safety, without knowing all the ingredients in the cream, I can't say for certain he will be ok. In addition, eating the tube can lead to an obstruction from the plastic, and it does look like he ate a bunch of the tube. To be safe, I would advise taking him in. Bring in the tube with you, and the vet can treated as needed. In my opine, it's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck with him, I hope this helps!
